Hip-Hop Wednesday

'The Rooster' by Atmosphere

It's my last day at work, so it feels like a Friday to me. Enjoy this great track which I found on this equally good mix by DJ Modest from Belleruche.

Absolutely blinding, I'm stunned. What an amazing singer, although it's a bit distracting having a bass player who looks like Jemaine from Flight of the Conchords.

Tune of the Season

'Black Christmas' by Poly Styrene

'You're Losing Me' by Ann Sexton

My old workmate Ben Banyard first introduced me to Ann Sexton years ago back in Bristol. She had loads of great tracks but this was always my favourite. Ben went on to record his own music under the name of Tin Soldier, and to set up his own label Random Flow, complete with logo designed by yours truly...

Tune of the Week

'All Night Long' by Dexter Wansel

I bought a copy of this on 12" back when I was 18 from a little shop in Birmingham, just behind New Street Station. I can't remember the name of the shop but I think it might have been 'Same Beat'?
