I won a pair of VIP tickets with hotel accommodation and train travel to Global Gathering courtesy of Strongbow Cider. Obviously I'm far too old for raving on a disused airfield and all my flourescent clothes were in the wash so I passed on the tickets to a grateful young Irishman at my work who had a great time.
Hurrah, at last a prize I can actually use! I've won a 5-litre keg of Heineken as a runner prize in a Londonpaper competition. I haven't tried it yet, but it comes with its own pump/handle type thing which looks quite entertaining. It also came with a very sweet certificate of authenticity signed by Heineken's Marketing Director which I shall frame and hang in my toilet immediately.
Won tickets to a Guardian Reader's Breakfast at the V&A for the opening of their Surreal Things exhibition. As with the Omid Djalili show tickets below, we couldn't go as we were both working. Must try harder to only enter competitions for events I can actually attend. I get so addicted to the buzz of winning things that I'm not very discerning or sensible when it comes to entering competitions online.
Won tickets to see Omid Djalili at BBC Television Centre, sadly we couldn't go which was a shame as he's very funny and it's a cool building. It's weird seeing TV Centre in real life when you're so used to seeing it on TV as a child watching Live and Kicking, Comic Relief, Blue Peter and programs like that.
Found out yesterday that I've won a five night holiday to Borneo from Metro courtesy of HSBC. I was planning to go camping in Cornwall this summer but I guess I'll have to make do with Borneo instead, it's a hard life...
This photo sums up everything I hate about London. You're trying to have a nice quiet afternoon nap at the train station, and some bloody designer with a camera phone comes along and takes photos of you. It's not like the good old days, this place is going to the dogs...
