Polaroid Portrait
After staring jealously at other people's Polaroids for far too long, I finally got around to getting one of my own. I took the plunge and bought a 1960s Polaroid Land Camera Automatic 103 which arrived yesterday. Although the battery was heavily corroded, it still had some long-expired film left in it so this was my first test shot.
It's a photo of my colleague Mrinal, and whilst it's accurately managed to capture his sunny disposition, I think it's fair to say it not the most realistic portrait. Last night I modified the battery compartment to take 2xAAA batteries and the shutter seems to be working fine which is good news. I've got two more of the expired Polaroids left to take and then I'll start using Fuji FP-100C film as a modern alternative.
I think this is going to be the start of a long and happy relationship with a bit of luck...
