Danish Dancehall

I just got back from a long weekend in Copenhagen which was very cool and great fun. In a superhuman display of willpower I managed to restrict myself to only taking three cameras. Perhaps even more surprisingly I came back with only three cameras as well. Instead I spent my hard-earned Kroner on four 7" records at a church jumble sale:

'My Boy Lollipop' by Millie, such a perfect pop record I can't believe I hadn't bought a copy before now. I'm sure I saw a documentary a while back which said this is the record that funded the birth of Island Records as well which is no mean feat. 'The Hula Hoop Song' by Georgia Gibbs which is just plain odd, but I couldn't pass an opportunity to buy a record about hula hoops (the sporting apparel rather than the crisps). A four-track extended 45 from Louis Prima which has a copy of 'The Lip' on it which is a great track. Last, but by no means least was 'Too Much Tequila' by The Champs, backed with 'Twenty Thousand Leagues'. In my experience one tequila is usually too much but what do I know. Not a bad little selection for 20 Kroner, and unlike cameras you can never have too many records...
